Settling in...

Texas is fitting us well, except for the fact we miss our provider here on earth. Every summer we must be apart from my soul mate and the love of a father for our children. I know John hates being away from us and just today he said he misses us already... we've been gone three days.. guess staying the extra week will need more consideration!
The children are loving the Bible Schools and are worn out at night! I have gotten the special treat of being able to help care for my foster sister who is 4mos old! After recovering from two broken legs she is a beautiful bouncing baby! Truly she is a blessing to my family no matter how long she stays!

Texas At Last

Being born and raised most of my life in Texas, it almost feels like coming home again, almost... I stil miss home already. Being at home we always have our routines that are not really set just known. I miss those routines when I have sleepy children that are just too excited to sleep! Can you believe that in a six hour car ride our 17th month old slept only ten min?! Not to mention any of the others, well except Selah who is 3 and she can sleep anywhere anytime!
Despite the long trip and the unusual ride, I am happy to be here and I know things will be better in the morning!

Packing for a Large Family

Trying to pack of a family of eight is not easy! Although my husband is not going with us on our next adventure to visit my parents in Texas, it still takes a lot of planning and packing for the children and I. Thank goodness my mom has foster children... that alone saves me a lot a packing being that she has toys and baby things for my active 17 month old!
I guess you could say this is our annual trip to the Vacation Bible School that my parents have at their church. This is something my children look forward to every year and I too ! It really is a break for me and I enjoy the daily adult converstion for a very wise woman!

Our Beginning

Our family is discovering more and more ways to reach those around us, our neighbors. Most of the writing will come from I, the mother, being that I am on the computer most and typing thoughts and memories out is easiest for me. Though I should say that in coming months and years I am sure my older children will be here adding things too. So often I forget how fast my children are growing and I hope this will keep reminding me of how precious each and every moment is!
I am off now to make my lovely children the milkshakes I promised them before bed!
